Covid Protocols
Vaccination
All participants must have had at least one Covid bivalent booster shot, which has a high efficacy rate against various Covid strains. However, there are two exceptions to this requirement:
All participants must show proof of their Covid vaccination status on entry (only the first time they come dancing); we will have a chart on hand to keep track of this information. Proof can be your printed vaccination card, a photograph of your card, or an image of your card (or other acceptable proof) on a smartphone or other digital device.
Anyone who wants to can email their proof of vaccination ahead of time to Craig Paul (carcarx [at] gmail.com) instead of bringing their proof the first time they come dancing. If you might want to do this but are hesitant about sending an image via email that has something you want to keep private (like maybe your medical record number), then you can just tape over that info before you take a photo of or scan your card — Craig will just need to see your name and the info about your last vaccination. And immediately after he records your vaccination status in the chart, he will permanently delete those emails and their attachments from his computer. (We are trying to respect people’s medical privacy).
Masking
Wearing a mask is optional for those who meet the bivalent booster shot requirement. However, those who do not meet this requirement (see above) will be required to wear a mask.
All participants must have had at least one Covid bivalent booster shot, which has a high efficacy rate against various Covid strains. However, there are two exceptions to this requirement:
- Those who received their 2nd booster shot less than two months ago, which means they are not yet eligible to take the bivalent booster shot, can still come (and need to show proof of their last booster, and the date they got it), but must remain masked. They will be expected to get the bivalent shot when they become eligible for it.
- Anyone who is ineligible to get Covid vaccinations at all for medical reasons may also still come dancing, but must remain masked. Those people are asked to bring a written statement explaining their medical ineligibility to get any Covid vaccinations (they can write it themselves; they don’t need a note from a doctor — we’ll go on an honor system here). Those written statements can be given to board member Craig Paul, who will keep them private and who will discard those papers after recording the person’s status on the vaccination-status chart.
